Oh hey guys! Man it’s already Monday and I’m here at the library again! Not that I don’t like talking to you, but the weeks just go way too fast. I wanted to say thank you for the great emails and pictures. We were laughing because the Superbowl is such a huge deal, but really, if anyone could even tell me who won 2 years ago I would be impressed. HAHA we just like it for the food! But I’m glad that you all had a great time! Thank you for the pictures, it’s always great to see you, and good to see that the old man’s still got it when it comes to living room wrestling. Well done! I wanted to just update you that I never got money from Uncle Kellan, so maybe check what address he sent it to because if it’s an old address someone may be holding it. . . I hope.
I was sooo happy to hear about the Newton girls and I wanted to give them a shout out. Hello Katie and Ellie! I think they would be surprised at how much I think about their family. Such a special family. Tell them I love them. As well, thank you for the picture of Art and Renee’s faces, juggled. Hijole! haha freaked me out!
So...this week was pretty rough haha :). Just one of those weeks I guess. The ones we try to avoid as much as possible. We definitely took our whippins and let’s just say we saw more naked people this week than we found new investigators. Not joking. It was ridiculous! We met the craziest people this week and any good stuff we did have
set up, fell through. So THANK YOU for Monday and the Sacrament because it feels good to start fresh this week.
It’s funny though because I wouldn't trade even the worst week on the mission for anything. Not anything.
So Carlos and Margie made it to the temple Saturday and they loved it! They are such MORMONS haha!! I love them! You guys are gonna love them too.
But I wanted to just share a sweet experience that I had Sunday...
Testimony meeting.... We are sitting there and Sabrina is sitting next to Matt Cavasos(the one that baptized her). And he has NEVER born his testimony. And he stands up and grabs her hand (brother and sister type hand hold - haha) and takes her up front. She was SUPER, SUPER nervous and didn't wanna go. So she sat down by Bishop and Matt stood up and gave an amazing testimony. Then he went and sat down by her and gave her “the look”. She slowly got up and walked to the mic. When she started talking her voice just got really soft, and she was just calm as could be. Here’s what she said:
"So Sister Cavasos said I should share my story with you. She said that it was a testimony... So I was with the missionaries and Cavasos and they were teaching the Plan of Salvation, and I got pretty scared. I felt like there were so many steps and that I wouldn't be able to make it. I felt tons of voices in my head saying, ‘you cant do it, you dont even read!!’ and I immediately decided I wouldn't do it. And I couldn't. The missionaries asked me questions, but I had lost my voice. So we went to finish with a prayer and Sister Cavasos said it. I felt so alone and cold, but when Sister Cavasos started her prayer, I felt something warm hug me...And I heard a voice say...hey, YOU CAN DO THIS! And at that moment I felt full of love and warmth.. And I knew I could do it. And I knew that God talked to me. So I want to stand up here and tell you all thank you, for changing my life. I KNOW that this is where God wants me. And I know cus he told me. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
I cried :)
Theres nothing sweeter guys :)
I love being missionary. That’s all there is too it. I love you all!!
Take care!!
